GOP Delaying 2nd Coming of Christ??

According to Dr. K.A. Paul, evangelical preacher, the GOP and their policies are actually delaying the second coming of Christ:
Voters should oust congressional Republican leaders because U.S. foreign policy is delaying the second coming of Jesus Christ, according to a evangelical preacher trying to influence closely contested political races.
and furthermore,
The Houston-based preacher said he believes that the Bush administration has delayed the second coming because U.S. foreign policy has blocked Christian missionaries from working in Iraq, Iran and Syria.
Now, I may be waaaay off here (we didn't even talk about this in Catechism!), but does anyone actually think that Jesus would be hindered by any human being? I mean, really, we're talking about the Son of God here, not some mustacio'd UN Diplomat!
Paul, who claimed to support conservative political leaders in the past, is launching "a crusade to save America from the wrath of God and Republicans abusing their power," according to his press materials.

But trouble's a'brewing for this prognosticator:
The Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability, a peer review group whose focus is to monitor charitable, religious and other nonprofit groups, severed its ties with the Gospel to the Unreached Millions last year when the group failed to provide information about its board of directors and the use of its resources.
Maybe Dr. Paul needs some more faith - I highly recommend some time reading Jesus' General- at least 10 minutes a day.

Ahhh... the Smell of Desperation

It sounds like the far right is feeling rather desperate these days, afraid that the evangelical base will stay home rather than vote Democrat (either will be disastrous for the Repbulican party):
The stakes are large, we can't afford twenty years, we can't afford two years of this. If you want a change in your Congressional leadership, fine, wait until you have the election, then demand it, with a new GOP speaker and majority leader if you want...but let me tell you, a new minority leader and a new minority whip will not get you much, it won't get you anything.

Two years ago we sent a message by reelecting the President, have things fallen so hard since then that we can't muster those numbers again and see that the good should not be traded in for the bad? You want to rue a day? You will rue a day with John Conyers as head of the House Judiciary and Pat Leahy as head of the Senate Judiciary. Don't do it. Please don't do it.

I guess I can't blame them... I'd be scared, too, if I was a member of either party and my party had scandal after scandal, implicating those all the way to the top in corruption (votes for hire), prostitution rings, and just plain sleaziness.

Sucks to be them right now, but hopefully people will start *thinking critically* before Nov. 7. One can only hope~

Yet Another D.C. Prostitution Ring...busted!

Well, folks, it seems yet another prostitution ring has been busted in D.C., er, rather it operated out of D.C., but the alleged "madame" lived in CA. It gives a new meaning to "long distance relationship," non?

Now this does not directly implicate any Congressmen or other high government officials, but who else would want a college-educated whore?
OCTOBER 9--With the capital already mired in its latest sex scandal, federal agents last week raided the home of a woman they allege has, for the past 13 years, operated a Washington, D.C. escort service that dispatched college-educated prostitutes to the homes and hotel rooms of well-heeled clients.
Apparently the alleged madame thinks that she got popped because Randy "Duke" Cunningham started talking...
Palfrey did not claim a nexis between her escort service and Cunningham, but invoked the disgraced pol's name while saying that she would wager that the basis for the federal probe of her business "had solely to do with some Duke Cunningham-type bigwig client that got caught up in something and started to say, 'Do you know this?' and 'Do you know that?' And that he might have been able to lead them to somebody.
And anyway, these prostitutes were women - how refreshing!
